Becoming A Freshman!

So the day has finally come. Those good times in 8th grade is nothing much more than cherished memories. You are now an official Freshman entering the realm of high school and it could make you feel a bit anxious yet excited. It is without a doubt, one of the most important new chapters in your life, but it is also very essential to remember that there will be much more events like this one along your future timeline.
JUST DO IT!

When it comes to anxiety and nervousness, I am no different. Matter of fact, sometimes anxiety has gotten the best of me and in turn affected my performance whether if it was taking a test or simple presentations. It is very crucial to remember that human beings have the automatic tendency to feel anxious when we are approached with something that our brain can map out. For example, our daily routine isn't something that gives us that feeling of "butterflies in your stomach" but going to a different country does. Why? It is because the brain can't expect what's going to happen until you actually face it.

Entering high school is the same exact thing. You know it's not your average middle school routine. Think about how you transitioned to the 6th grade. It's almost the same feeling of transition, I would argue, as going into the 9th grade. The only thing that is going to be different from your "routine" would be the amount of independence high school life offers you. I loved it.

So here's the deal breaker...
If I can do it, so can you!

Don't be intimidated by the vast number of rooms and students walking around the hallways. Don't be afraid to ask questions to the staff especially during your first couple weeks in high school! They will gladly help you navigate around the school facility making sure you get to class on time without any problems. It'll take you no less than a week before your brain settles in and it becomes that average "routine" all over again.
